The Westin Dragonara Resort occupies its own peninsula in St Julian’s, with the sea on three sides and direct access via two beach lidos, yet within walking distance of the town. It is a large, family-friendly resort, recently renovated, with 413 rooms and suites, including a newer collection of Luxury Bay Suites at the water’s edge, some with plunge pools. Dining covers five outlets, from the flagship Quadro to a buffet, a casual Italian trattoria, a piano-bar lounge and a seasonal tapas-and-wine spot in a restored 19th-century boathouse. There is no named spa, but the resort has a fitness studio, indoor and outdoor pools, a kids’ club and watersports such as snorkelling and diving. It suits families and couples who want a sea-surrounded resort with plenty of pools and dining, close to the buzz of St Julian’s.
