A Museum-Concept Cave Hotel

Built into Uchisar Castle in Cappadocia, Museum Hotel is a Relais & Chateaux property of 34 restored cave and stone rooms displaying registered antiquities, with an award-recognised restaurant, a cave wine cellar and a heated Roman pool over the valleys.

A living museum among the valleys

Museum Hotel is built into the edge of Uchisar Castle in Cappadocia, created by restoring ancient caves, ruins and old houses, with rooms and terraces facing the Goreme, Love, Pigeon and Red valleys and Mount Erciyes. Described as the world’s first museum-concept hotel, it displays hundreds of registered antiquities from Hittite, Roman, Seljuk and Ottoman times throughout the property. There are 34 rooms and suites, from restored cave rooms to Imperial Pool Suites of up to 230 square metres with private pools and, in the honeymoon suites, wine fountains. Dining is led by Lila, a farm-to-table restaurant of Cappadocian, Anatolian and Ottoman cooking from chef Saygin Sesli, selected by the Michelin Guide, with the restored-cave Cavo wine cellar for guided tastings. Wellness centres on in-room and lounge massages, private bath rituals and a traditional Turkish barber. The heated Roman pool stays at 30 to 32 degrees year-round, even in snow, over the valleys. A member of Relais & Chateaux, and the only one in Cappadocia, it suits couples and culture and gastronomy-minded travellers who want an exclusive, antiquity-rich cave stay.
