Finch Bay Galapagos Hotel is the only beachfront hotel in Puerto Ayora, on the south side of Santa Cruz Island, in Punta Estrada reached by a short water taxi across the bay, next to the only public beach and surrounded by national park near the Charles Darwin Research Station. It has 33 rooms, from Finch Bay and Premium rooms to bay-view Suites and 70 to 80-square-metre Evolution Suites with soaking tubs and private balconies, with biodegradable amenities. Dining is at the open-air oceanfront Finch Bay Restaurant, using local Galapagos ingredients with its own organic garden and a signature sustainable slipper lobster, and a bar with signature Galapagos cocktails.
There is the Finch Bay Spa, an outdoor yoga deck, a gym, two hot tubs and a heated swimming pool with a poolside bar. Built as an expedition hotel with carbon-neutral operations, it runs the Sea Lion yacht for day tours, one of only twelve Galapagos yachts licensed for national-park day trips, alongside scuba, kayaking, hiking and wildlife tours. Part of Metropolitan Touring, it suits travellers who prefer a land-based beachfront Galapagos experience, from families and couples to active and sustainability-minded guests.
