A 1920s-Style Safari Camp at Ranthambore

On the edge of Ranthambore National Park, SUJAN Sher Bagh is a positive-impact safari camp of 12 tented suites in 1920s style, with farm-to-table Anglo-Indian dining, a jungle spa, a pool and tiger safaris.

Tiger country under canvas

SUJAN Sher Bagh sits on the edge of Ranthambore National Park near Sawai Madhopur, about three hours from Jaipur, India’s first positive-impact safari camp, established around 25 years ago in glamorous 1920s safari style under canvas. It has 12 tented suites, from campaign-style jungle suites with a brass bathtub and open shower to a family suite, the Royal Sher Suite with a private heated dip pool and outdoor fireplace and the two-bedroom Imperial Raj Bagh Suite with a pool deck, all air-conditioned with a 24-hour butler.

Dining is full-board, farm-to-table Anglo-Indian cuisine using organic home-grown produce, with campfire and outdoor dining. There is the Jungle Spa under peepal trees with Ayurvedic therapies, a pool and a complimentary gym. Experiences run from game drives for tigers, leopard and sloth bear with expert guides to a cooking class, a ramble to the 8th-century Ranthambore Fort and a craft NGO visit. A member of Relais & Chateaux, it suits wildlife and safari enthusiasts, conservation-minded travellers and families who want luxury tented adventure.
