Sekitei is a Japanese-garden ryokan at Miyahama Onsen in Hatsukaichi near Miyajima in Hiroshima, a gateway to the island and ranked among Japan’s finest ryokan gardens, holding two Michelin Keys. It has 12 rooms, each with a private outdoor or semi-outdoor bath, a heated tatami floor and a washlet toilet, across the main building with panoramic Miyajima and Seto Inland Sea views, a separate garden-facing building and a summer house.
Dining is served in-room for dinner and in the hall for breakfast, with Japanese cuisine from the Seto Inland Sea and mountains and course options with wine and sake pairings. Baths draw on a simple radon hot spring, with outdoor bathing over the sea, garden and moon, and spa treatments. Public areas include an underground library terrace, salons and a garden. Barrier-free rooms are available. It suits couples and garden and onsen lovers who want an intimate, design-rich ryokan with in-room private baths as a refined base for Miyajima.
