Thailand’s first luxury tented camps in Khao Sok National Park offer an unforgettable wilderness escape, combining the Elephant Camp on land with the floating Lake Camp on Cheow Larn Lake.

An Introduction

The signature Elephant Experience focuses on ethical, hands-on interaction including feeding and learning about the elephants, with no riding involved. Set within a high animal-welfare environment, the experience combines safari-style tented stays in both rainforest and floating lake locations.

These all-inclusive 2–4 day breaks  include ethical, up close elephant encounters.

The programme works especially well as part of a wider Thailand journey, ideally paired with a stay in Bangkok and/or a beach destination such as Phuket, Koh Samui, Khao Lak or Krabi before or after the safari.

 

Dining

Elephant Hills offers two dining settings across its Elephant Camp and Lake Camp. The Camp Restaurant serves buffet-style Thai and international meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner, all included in the tour. Menus highlight fresh local produce with vegetarian and dietary options available.

At the Elephant Camp, the Camp Bar provides a relaxed evening setting for drinks and socialising after the day’s activities, with Thai beers, wines and jungle-inspired cocktails. The Lake Camp offers a similar all-inclusive dining experience in a more remote floating setting, adapted to its solar-powered, low-impact design on Cheow Larn Lake.

Facilities and experiences

  • The ethical Elephant Experience is the headline activity, with feeding and interaction at the Elephant Park rather than riding.
  • Other tour activities include canoe safari through the rainforest, jungle trek, Khao Sok day trips, kayaking on Cheow Larn Lake and mangrove speedboat through Takuapa.
