Bamurru Plains is an off-grid safari camp on a working water-buffalo station on the Mary River floodplain at the edge of Kakadu National Park, with more than 300 square kilometres of exclusive access, open February to October with no Wi-Fi, mobile or television. It has 12 lodgings, from mesh-walled Eco Bungalows and solid-walled Safari Bungalows to the larger Kingfisher Suite and the Jabiru Retreat with a private plunge pool.
Dining is all-inclusive and communal from the main lodge, with three chef-prepared meals daily using native and regional produce, an open bar and sundowner canapes, and private dining for the top lodgings. There is a shared wet-edge saltwater pool and the Jabiru plunge pool. Experiences run as daily guided seasonal safaris, from airboat safaris and croc-spotting river cruises to sundowner safaris, guided walks, 4WD drives and birdwatching.
