Southern Ocean Lodge sits on limestone clifftops above Hanson Bay on the wild south coast of Kangaroo Island, between Flinders Chase National Park and Seal Bay, rebuilt and reopened in December 2023 after the 2020 bushfires, for children aged 10 and up. It has 25 suites, from the Flinders Suite to the Remarkable and Osprey suites and the Baillie Pavilions, several with a plunge pool. Dining is in the Great Room, produce-driven with South Australian menus and a four-course tasting dinner, an open bar and a walk-in SA wine cellar, with in-suite bars.
There is the Southern Spa with three treatment rooms, a sauna, a gym and hot and cold plunge pools. Experiences are included, from the Wonders of KI and a Seal Bay Safari to a coastal clifftop walk and koala and kangaroo encounters, with premium Rare & Remarkable experiences.
