Splendido Mare sits directly on the harbour of Portofino, the iconic Ligurian fishing village that has anchored Italian glamour since the 1950s. Belmond’s hotel has 14 rooms and suites in the harbour front building, with sea view balconies opening directly onto the famous Piazzetta
Splendido Mare operates as the sister property to Belmond’s Splendido Hotel on the cliff above, with guests of either property able to use both.
The Portofino harbour itself is the centrepiece: yachts, gelaterie, the small parish church of San Giorgio on the headland and the walk up to the lighthouse at Punta del Capo. The hotel sits a 5-minute walk to the trail up to Castello Brown and the famous coastal walk to San Fruttuoso and Camogli.
