The resort takes its name from Saccharum, the botanical name for sugar cane, while its interiors, created by renowned Portuguese designer Nini Andrade Silva, reinterpret Madeira’s industrial and sugar-cane heritage through sophisticated contemporary design. Dining spans several venues. Alambique is the fine-dining restaurant with a Madeiran soul, and Engenho serves morning and evening buffets with ocean views.
The Trapiche restaurant and the Fly Lounge Bar complete the offer, the latter a spot for sunset drinks.
