Sofitel Rio de Janeiro Ipanema sits on Avenida Vieira Souto facing Ipanema beach, in the heart of the Zona Sul, about 20 minutes from Santos Dumont airport and 45 minutes from Galeao international. Formerly the Caesar Park, a Rio institution in its own right, it has around 220 rooms and suites in a calm French Brazilian style, most with balconies looking out over the sand towards Dois Irmaos and the Cagarras islands. Copacabana lies over the rocks at Arpoador in one direction, Leblon a short walk in the other, with the Lagoa and the Jardim Botanico just behind.

Dining looks out over the beach, with a rooftop restaurant known for its Saturday feijoada, all day options and a bar for sunset drinks. There is a spa and fitness centre and a rooftop pool with one of the best outlooks in Ipanema, alongside beach service with loungers, umbrellas and towels laid on across the avenue.
