Orient Express Venezia occupies Palazzo Dona Giovannelli, a palace built in 1436 in the Cannaregio district, where two canals meet. After an eight-year restoration led by designer Aline Asmar d’Amman, it becomes a hotel for the first time in around six centuries, retaining frescoes, Murano glass, a Neo-Gothic staircase and a Gothic facade. There are 47 rooms and suites, from compact classics to six signature suites, with Art Deco touches and butler service. Dining is led by three-Michelin-starred chef Heinz Beck, with a gastronomic restaurant, an all-day Venetian room and garden, and an Art Deco cocktail bar themed on the Orient Express. The spa draws on Roman, Venetian and Ottoman traditions, with historic event salons completing the palace. Please note the hotel is due to open in 2026.
