The Retreat at Blue Lagoon is built into an 800-year-old lava landscape on the Reykjanes peninsula in south-west Iceland, close to Keflavik airport, drawing on the same geothermal, mineral-rich waters as the neighbouring Blue Lagoon. It has 60 minimalist suites in glass, moss and lava tones, from Lava and Moss junior suites to the Lagoon Suite with a step to the private lagoon and the bi-level Blue Lagoon Suite with its own lagoon, sauna and steam room.
Dining is led by Moss, awarded a Michelin star in 2023, with a seasonal tasting menu and a volcanic wine cellar, alongside the lava-set Lava Restaurant and the robe-friendly Spa Restaurant. The 2,300-square-metre Retreat Spa wraps around a private lagoon, with a sauna, steam cave, cold well and the signature Blue Lagoon Ritual. A stay includes unlimited spa and lagoon access, breakfast and morning yoga. A B Corp property, it suits wellness-focused travellers, couples and honeymooners who want a serene geothermal immersion near the airport.
