Explora Patagonia sits in the heart of Torres del Paine National Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, on the shores of turquoise Lake Pehoe facing the Paine Massif and Salto Chico waterfall, beside Explora’s private conservation reserve. It has 50 rooms in three categories, from Exploradores Suites to Cordillera Paine and Salto Chico rooms, all with a jetted bathtub, in a design by Chilean architect Jose Cruz Ovalle built on the luxury of the essential in cypress, lenga and almendrillo woods.
Dining is in a single dining room over the lake, serving authentic Patagonian cuisine with local ingredients and an open bar with Chilean wines, all included. There is a scenic spa with a heated indoor pool, a steam sauna and four open-air hot tubs over the Paine River. The stay is all-inclusive, covering more than 40 guided explorations in small groups across six zones, from hikes and horse riding at the lodge’s own stable to glacier trips and gaucho culture, with guides trained at Explora’s own school.
