Rekero Camp sits inside the Masai Mara National Reserve, nestled among trees overlooking a crossing point on the Talek River, with a Talek crossing point around 150 metres from the dining area and the Mara River a short drive away, one of the first camps established in the Mara. Reached by a short drive from the Ol Kiombo airstrip and open from June to March, it has nine classic, spacious safari tents, including two family suites, each with an en-suite hot-water shower and a private veranda, and a recently rebuilt lounge, dining area and deck.
Dining is full-board with house drinks included, from relaxed lunches on the deck to sundowners over the river, catering to dietary needs. This is a classic bush camp running on solar power, without a spa or pool, its focus the wildlife. Open-vehicle game drives find resident lion, leopard and hyena year-round, with front-row Great Migration river crossings from July to October, hot-air balloon safaris and birding.
